Cabbage Soup Diet - Day 3

Firstly, I know I am blogging about day 3 on day 4, but surely a boy is allowed a night off?

So, today was quite hard!  Been at work all day and the lack of food has really started to make me lethargic and I haven’t particularly wanted to do anything for the last couple of hours.  That and the fact it’s Bank Holiday Monday and has been pissing it down with rain hasn’t helped as it has kept people away from the city centre.  Oh, and also not helped by most of the other retailers in town closing early and opening later than we did, but hey ho, have come to expect this of Coventry city centre now!

Well, have done quite well on food today, managed to eat quite a lot, so here goes!

Asda Sharing Salad Bowl (all to myself) = 80 calories

200g Cucumber = 80 calories

200g Beetroot = 100 calories

100g Radish = 50 calories

3 Apples = 160 calories

2 Plums = 72 calories

400g Grapes = 68 calories

200g Parsnips = 132 calories

200g Carrots = 60 calories

100g Red Onion = 36 calories

100g Courgette = 18 calories

That amounts to…. drum roll please…. 856 calories!  And I can’t believe how hungry I still was after eating all that, but just couldn’t face eating more food!

Now Day 4 as I’m sure we all know by now after my bleating on about it - is banana day.  That is not going to go down too well with me!  Especially as I have a full on day at work putting in a new layout on Menswear.  This is going to be the toughest day yet, and if I am really honest, I think I will crack.  The last time I tried this diet, day 4 was my breaking point and due to the nature of what I do, I don’t think this time round is going to be any different.

I have already promised myself that if I do crack, its going to be healthy cracking through.  None of this McDonalds or KFC *hmmm, KFC - daydreams about fried chicken……………* I mean good healthy food, maybe a bit of protein as I think that is what my body is craving most!  M&S might be getting a visit so I can buy some salad and precooked chicken.  See, healthy option!

Anyway, I guess you will find out all about day 4 later, until then people!

Cabbage Soup Diet - Day 2

Me again!  Well, today was vegetable day, and so far, the more difficult of the two, although something tells me that it has a great deal to do with the fact that today has been my day off, so I haven’t had anything else to do apart from think about how hungry I feel!

Had a bit of a mantra for how my food was going to work today, and I think I cracked it!  Raw for breakfast, boiled for lunch and roasted for dinner.  Again, have been looking at the calories of things, and even though I think I have eaten more than yesterday, I actually feel more hungry, and know that I wouldn’t have got anywhere near what I actually can have in a day!

So here goes - Day twos food diary!

500g Carrots = 150 calories

400g Broccoli = 120 calories

300g Cauliflower = 102 calories

200g Parsnips = 132 calories

200g Cabbage = 42 calories

50g Red Onion = 18 calories

50g Mushrooms = 6 calories

1 Courgette = 18 calories

1 Leek = 25 calories

1 Baked Potato = 245 calories

400ml Fruit Tea = 12 calories

400ml Green Tea = 5 calories

That all in all, totals to 875 calories, still only 1/3 of what I could eat in a day by sticking to my 2500 limit!

How do I feel?  A bit shit to be honest!  I have really felt the effects of not eating a great deal today.  I have been hungry most of the day, had a headache 50% of the time and have drank so much liquid I could have drowned myself!  I have felt proper hunger today, and not least because we have been watching cooking programmes for half the day!  Well, one of the Fabulous Baker Brothers is hot so we have to watch it!

Also feeling ratty and like everything is going to start getting on my nerves, not good when next week there are layouts to do at work!

But hey, tomorrow is fruit and veg day, so I would expect to see the calorie count a bit higher than todays, but who knows.  Salad can be included and I know how little calories there are in lettuce!  Should be an easier day to get through though! Well, I’m hoping so!

Until tomorrow followers!

Cabbage Soup Diet - Day 1 (Part 2)

Right, we are not even 19 hours into this diet and the boyf has already cheated by eating a slice of bread!  Stodgy white bread! Grrrrr!

On the upside, I’m not doing that bad!  So far have consumed

3 Apples = 159 calories

4 Plums = 72 calories

3 Satsumas = 72 calories

1/2 Galia Melon = 96 calories

400g Black Grapes = 68 calories

200g Strawberries = 54 calories

1 lrg Green Tea = 6 calories

My own body weight in water

Approximately, that all adds up to 527 calories, and there isn’t much more fruit in the house for me to scoff (although I have hidden a Honeydew melon somewhere for emergencies) so I don’t see it going much above that amount to be very honest!

This diet however, does say that I can eat as much as I want of what I am allowed to eat on each particular day (except day 4 when I am limited to 8 banana’s and 2 litres of skimmed milk) but to eat my calorie intake in a single day, I would never stop eating as the fruit I like really doesn’t have a great deal of calories in it!  Bearing in mind I am not allowed to eat starchy fruits such as bananas or avocados on my fruit days!

That’s dedication!  Bearing in mind that for my body just to function (breathe, blink, snore etc) it uses 1800 calories per day, and the normal guideline for a man of my size is 2500 calories per day, that’s an under-eat of almost 80% - check me out, I could sooo do the voiceover on Supersize vs Superskinny!

Well, tomorrow is veg day and I think I’m just going to have to eat my own body weight in carrots to get remotely near to the 2500 calories I am allowed!  Veg for breakfast?  Hmmmm, not so sure!  Although I can have a jacket potato for dinner - just not sure if I will want to!

Until tomorrow people!

Cabbage Soup Diet - Day 1

Well, once again this whole blogging thing didn’t go to well did it?

But now I’m going to try and keep this up!

So I am trying out the cabbage soup diet this week - strangely this does not involve eating just cabbage soup (thanks god) - there is a diet plan to follow for 7 days, and I can couple it with exercise to try and lose even more weight.

Now, the guide pack ebook thing that goes through the diet suggests having someone there to support you, but while the boyf is also doing the diet, I have decided to let you guys (all 5 of you who follow me) to be my support system - and at least then I can get any moans out of the way (trust me there will be some by day 4) without affecting the boyfs diet too.  The diet also suggests rewarding yourself for achieving your goal with something that isn’t food related.  So I have decided that my reward shall be my next tattoo, only a small one on my foot, but that can be this years tattoo!  Next year I can get me big ones done!

So, now for the personal introduction bit!

Age: 25

Sex: Male

Orientation: Gay (who knew?)

Height: 5ft 9 and a bit

Current Weight: 12st 10lbs

Goal Weight: 12st

Now, the idea is that every day, I blog about the kinds of things I have eaten, what exercise I have done, and then next Saturday morning, post a result of what I weigh and work out the loss.

So, to kick off, its 7.34am on Saturday and I have eaten an apple.  Maybe I should post the calorie count of said apple, but I can’t be bothered to go and look it up - might save that task for later and add up my total calorie intake for the day

Either way, I need to go out to work soon, so I guess this is where the first blog ends!  Wish me luck people!  There are 10lbs at stake here!

Looking Back…

When I first created this account, I was always of the notion that I would be on it all the time and forever typing my little thoughts and adventures, but life somehow got in the way!  That and the fact I can be a bit of a lazy cunt at times.

Three weeks into the New Year and there is much to be planned.  February and March are going to be busy months with a work trip to Yerevan, Armenia planned, a staff night out in Newcastle for the Retail J guys which means a good old catch up with Ant and the girls - and Phil, not sure if he’s going though.  Were there any other boys on it?  Don’t think so, didn’t meet them if there were.

Then in March I have some time off to go back down south and see mates and the fam and do the rounds as usual.

Have been looking back through my past bloggings and diary entries and the book that I started to write about being a gay teenager and got to thinking that I need to finish things that I start.  Although as a Leo I tend to get bored quite easily.  I have this very strange idea that I could replace a columnist in Attitude magazine with my previous experience in Southern Scene.  And on the back of this, I also need to pull my finger out and finish this book - well, in reality it would mean actually starting it properly as there are only little bits written for about half of the chapters that I have planned.  Somehow this needs to be turned into 300 pages of exploits and adventures, highs and lows, the tell alls.  And even just typing on here, I have remembered guys that I hadn’t even planned to write about.  Maybe I need to make my list again to try and remember them all, the order they came in (excuse the pun) would also be handy so at least it would make sense chronologically.

As per, I am rambling again, so I will just call it quits tonight.  With a bit of luck, you may get to see me a bit sooner rather than later.

Happy New Year

Well, this blogging lark hasn’t exactly gone as I’d first thought!  Seems to take me months at a time to get back on here and post something new.

Had a great New Years Eve, sank three bottles of wine and my head feels fine this morning so everything is all good.

Really getting into Twitter now, can see why people are calling it the social revolution.  It’s not there because people don’t want to socialise face to face, but because information can be shared so much quicker online.  For instance, when no news channel would do a breaking news - this just in for the demise of Katy Perry’s marriage to Russell Brand, millions of people can find out almost instantly from just one tweet on Twitter.  With Retweet after Retweet, pretty much the whole world would have known in hours.  Although lets face it, who didn’t see this coming anyway.  They have spent about 17.5 days together in the whole year - that’s one hell of a strain to put on a new marriage.

But what have we got to look forward to, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics, changing stores at River, 5 year anniversary with Ste, Titanic 3D, the Steps tour, seeing who the new judge’s will be on X Factor… 2012 is going to be a year of hope and joy for most, and undoubtedly misery and suffering for others, so lets be thankful that we on the most part fall in to the first of those two.

Happy New Year guys!

REFIT!

OMFG, Britney was amazing.  Obviously she didn’t sing live, but it was a great show, and loved seeing an old friend for a drink after it finished, or the drive around the borough of Brent trying to find the Wembley drive through McDonalds (and failing) wasn’t exactly a highlight.

Am up way too early for my liking ready to go to Tbilisi people!  So you will all have a week away from me as I will be run ragged helping to try and get this store open on time.  For those of you living there that have no idea what I am on about (if indeed anyone but Monty can see this) the store is due to open next to Peacocks on Saturday 12th November!

Here’s to a good flight (lets see how many deployments I can get completed) and I will post about the trip when I get back!
